We’re back in Denver!

As this little note gets typed up, it’s late on Feb. 13, 2025, almost two years to the day since Radio 1190 returned to the AM airwaves … so in keeping with the season, and those overall love-y Valentine’s vibes, we’ve got big news for you if you happen to live in Denver:

We’re back on the Denver FM airwaves as of this evening, on translator K255BS 92.9 FM!

If there’s one question we’ve kept answering again and again over the last few years, it’s “when are you going to be back on the air in Denver?” If there’s another, it’s “when are you going to be on the FM?” Well, that time is now. Our intrepid chief engineer, Eric Scace, flipped the switch a few minutes before 7 p.m. after nearly 24 hours of solid work since receiving the keys to our new LoHi transmitter shack from our new translator’s wonderful original caretakers, Denver Open Media Foundation. Someone really should buy Eric some flowers, but maybe let him get some sleep first.

We wouldn’t be at this point of celebration if it weren’t for the generosity and benevolence of the Stewart Family Foundation, honoring the legacy of Colorado broadcast pioneers Lila and Bill Stewart, as well as our friends and partners in CU Boulder Student Government and the College of Media, Communication and Information. Thank you for believing in the power of student media.

Denver, we love you. It’s been too long. We’re looking forward to making up for lost time.

Happy Valentine’s Day,
Iris Berkeley, general manager
