Review of Being Dead’s Eels

A beautiful album that calls back to the four-track, indie duets of the early 2000s. The record seamlessly transitions between a standard, disaffected alternative tone and super-sweet, intimate songwriting. There’s not really a sub-genre of rock that the duo don’t dip into here (post-punk, surf-rock, girl group etc.), yet the vision is so singular and coherent. The vocal performances are also fantastic and cement this record as one of the most sincere I’ve heard this year.
