Fall 2025 Wattage Week recap: Thanks for the love!

That’s a wrap for our Fall 2025 Wattage Week! This was our second-ever fund drive since the old days of the Buy-a-Watt fund drives more than a decade ago, and honestly we’re sort of in awe at how much y’all showed up to support the best radio station in the universe — in total, over the five days of Wattage Week we saw 108 of you get online and mash that Donate button. We are so, so grateful!

If you donated during Wattage Week, your limited-edition iron-on patches and sticker sheets will be in the mail in a few days; we’re having a big envelope-stuffing party at our next general volunteer meeting and CU’s mailing office isn’t ready for what’s about to hit them. If you didn’t get a chance to give during Wattage Week, it’s not too late! Our donations box is always open over at 1190.radio/donate — and don’t forget that until the end of the year, every dollar given to Radio 1190 is matched 2 to 1 thanks to the generosity of the L&N Andreas Foundation, up to $50,000!

Honestly, between the match and our upcoming station move, there’s never been a better time to support your best friend on the airwaves. We’re gearing up to move our studios to their new location in Carlson Gymnasium over the winter break, and anything we receive from now until then will go directly into those last items on our wish list for the move — in particular reworking the aging lighting so we can support livestream videos of in-studio performances for you to enjoy, upgrading some long-past-prime studio gear so your favorite shows sound even better, and even just replacing the beat-up carpeting so our students have a new home that they can really be proud of.

So if you’ve already given, once again, THANK YOU! And if you haven’t yet, now’s the time. But we can let the voices of our Wattage Week donors say it even better than we can — here are a few comments from this past week:

  • Love tuning in whenever I’m in the area! The DJ talk segments are some of my favorite ones I’ve ever heard.
  • Love all of you and what you do! Good luck with the new studio!
  • I love your playlist & schedule setup!
  • Keep it weird 1190! Love those crazy sweepers you guys do especially.
  • Long live 1190! The station changed my life when I went to CU from 2012-2016. Thanks to the current staff for keeping independent radio alive!
  • I was a student manager from 2017-2019. RADIO 1190 FOREVER.
  • Love radio 1190! Thx for being such a supportive space.
  • Love to Radio 1190 and every student who calls it home. Help us keep 1190 in everyone’s heart.

In the words of our immortal volunteer director emeritus, DJ CJ — Radio 1190: All Is Full Of Love. Thanks for showing yours!

Big row of heart emojis,
Iris Berkeley, general manager
