BOULDER Colo. – This Tuesday, Feb., 17 the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team (18- 8, 8-5 Big 12) returns to University of Arizona’s McKale Memorial Center. Colorado beats Arizona 78-70.

The Buffs enter this game off a three-game winning streak, while the University of Arizona’s women’s basketball team (11-14, 2-12 Big 12) comes in off a three-game losing streak.

Throughout the game the Buffs fell victim to the Wildcat’s turnover-pocalypse finishing the game with 25 turnovers. However the Buffs still pulled off the win against star player Loni Cornfield and the Arizona Wildcats.

This is the two teams’ second match up of the season. The tipoff takes place at 6:02 p.m. Mountain Time.

The Buffs lead the first quarter, building their largest lead of the game at seven points until the final period.

Tabitha Betson, a key contributor this season, doesn’t start but is quickly subbed in. She left the team last semester to go home to Australia to better her mental health. She starts back up this semester and has played in eight of the last 16 games.

At halftime the Buffs have 15 turnovers. Their game average is 16 turnovers per game. This makes ball control a key point of emphasis for head coach JR Payne during halftime.

The third quarter is tied up by the Wildcats. Sumayah Supong gets a technical and is out for the rest of the game. It ends with a huge three pointer by Cornfield to tie up the game.

The fourth quarter remained close. The Buffs are able to pull away by going on a 7-0 scoring streak. The Wildcats go three minutes without scoring. The game has a total of five ties and 11 lead switches. The Buffs end with 25 total turnovers, but win 78-70 to continue their winning streak. Anaëlle Dutat is named the Buffs’ player of the game.
