Radio 1190 chats with Len Brown of the Grammys

What’s it like to welcome one of the big names in one of the biggest showcases of music on the planet? That’s what we discovered March 9, when Len Brown of the Grammys came to visit our studio as part of a week’s visit to CU Boulder and the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information (CMDI). Brown, who’s senior manager of hip-hop, R&B and reggae at the Recording Academy, joined in one of our Monday evening general volunteer meetings for a Q&A hosted by volunteer director Elliana Nickel, with questions from volunteers, DJs, and news producers from across the station.

Plus, our music director Gavin Orth had the chance to sit down with Brown for a chat about his road to the Academy, what he listens to when he’s not on the job, and where artists fit into today’s complex, algorithm-driven musical landscape. Have a listen to the Soundcloud embed to learn more.
